چکیده

When we investigated the magnetic structure of a variety of soft-magnetic amorphous ribbons by means of ultra-small-angle neutron scattering (USANSPOL) we were confronted with one particularly interesting Fe65.7Co18Si0.8B15.5 ribbon, provided by VAC Hanau. Due to a special thermal treatment during production a fieldand stress-induced transverse domain texture was expected. Although the USANSPOL technique encountered its resolution limits during the investigation of this specific sample ribbon, such a texture could indeed be verified.

Introducing and investigating structural and magnetic properties of ribbons Co68.5-xFe4WxSi16.5B11 (x = 0.8, 2) in amorphous and crystalline states

In this study, for the first time, cobalt base ribbons were made by adding two different amounts of tungsten with Co67.7Fe4W0.8Si16.5B11 and Co66.5Fe4W2 Si16.5B11 compounds by melt spinning in the water. The pattern of  X-ray diffraction taken from these ribbons shows that these magnetic ribbons are amorphous. By using thermal analysis curves, taken from the ribbons, crystallization temperature...

Bacterium organizes hierarchical amorphous structure in microbial cellulose.

A pellicle, a gel film of microbial cellulose, is a supermolecular system containing 99% of water by weight, which is closely related to an amorphous structure in it. Using ultra-small-angle neutron scattering, in order to cover over a wide range of length scales from nm to 10 microm, we examined the hierarchical amorphous structure in the microbial cellulose, which is synthesized by a bacteriu...

Nanocrystallization in Co67Cr7Fe4Si8B14 Amorphous Alloy Ribbons

The nanocrystallization of Co67Fe4Cr7Si8B14 amorphous ribbons which prepared by planar flow melt spinning process (PFMS) was investigated. Crystallization of the ribbons was studied by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The DTA result of amorphous ribbon at heating rate of 10˚C/min showedoccurrence of phase transitions in two...

Temperature dependent crystallization of amorphous Y67Fe33 studied by kinetic small angle neutron scattering

Temperature-resolved small angle neutron scattering has been used to study the nucleation, growth kinetics and crystallite morphology in the Y-Fe system. Crystallization from amorphous Y67Fe33 to the YFe2 Laves phase via a novel ‘YFe’ intermediate phase has been followed to completion as a function of temperature from 180oC to 500oC. The SANS results agree well with published kinetic neutron di...

pH-triggered formation of nanoribbons from yeast-derived glycolipid biosurfactants.

In the present paper, we show that the saturated form of acidic sophorolipids, a family of industrially scaled bolaform microbial glycolipids, unexpectedly forms chiral nanofibers only at pH below 7.5. In particular, we illustrate that this phenomenon derives from a subtle cooperative effect of molecular chirality, hydrogen bonding, van der Waals forces and steric hindrance. The pH-responsive b...
